Madhurya made this unique handloom Chanderi saree in collaboration with celebrity stylist Ms. Ami Patel in 2017. The saree is a ‘bestseller’ and was an original creation under “StyleByAmi X Madhurya” called “My First Saree”.
The saree has colorful cat motifs all over its body and the border and pallu are handwoven with pure zari. This saree was specially designed for Alia Bhatt as she wanted to attend 2017 Zee Cine Awards wearing a saree, and this was the first time the actress wore a saree to a public event. Alia won the Best Actress award for ‘Udta Punjab’. The cat motifs showcase her affection towards Edward, her cat. Cats are symbolic of elegance, curiosity, mischief, independence, protection, serendipity, magic, and good luck. Alia carries all these beautiful attributes in her beautiful pink drape. The look is traditional and modern simultaneously.
